Squad is built to help college students connect and share authentic campus experiences. To keep our community safe and welcoming for everyone, we've established guidelines for content and behavior. Violating these guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban from the platform.

Our Community Standards

Be Authentic

  • Use an appropriate username that doesn't contain offensive language or slurs
  • Don't create fake accounts or impersonate others
  • Don't engage in spam behavior or promote unauthorized businesses
  • Keep content relevant to your campus community

Keep It Safe

  • No harassment or bullying of any kind
  • No hate speech, including slurs, stereotypes, or discriminatory content
  • Don't share private information about others or yourself
  • No threatening language or encouragement of violence
  • No content promoting self-harm or suicide
  • No content involving minors or endangering child safety
  • No explicit sexual content or nudity
  • No promotion or sale of controlled substances

Stay Honest

  • Don't spread false information about campus events, policies, or services
  • Don't create fake emergency alerts
  • Don't post misleading information about academic requirements
  • Keep picks and responses genuine and truthful

Reporting Content

You can report concerning content in three ways:

  1. Report a user
  2. Report a pick
  3. Report a specific option within a pick

Our team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action based on:

  • Severity of the violation
  • Pattern of behavior
  • Impact on community safety
  • Context of the content

What Happens After You Report

  1. Our team reviews the report promptly
  2. We investigate the content and context
  3. We take appropriate action, which may include:
    • Content removal
    • Warning to the user
    • Temporary suspension
    • Permanent account ban
  4. We maintain reporter privacy and take steps to prevent retaliation

Content Categories We Monitor

Harassment and Bullying

  • Insults and hostile behavior
  • Unwanted sexual content
  • Targeted harassment
  • Inciting others to harass
  • Violent event denial

Privacy Violations

  • Sharing private information without consent
  • Threatening to leak private information
  • Posting unwanted images of others
  • Revealing sensitive location details

Hate Speech

  • Use of slurs
  • Discriminatory stereotypes
  • Dehumanizing language
  • Hateful symbols or references
  • Content inciting fear or discrimination

Safety Concerns

  • Suicide or self-harm content
  • Child exploitation or endangerment
  • Violence or threats
  • Dangerous behavior
  • Distribution of controlled substances

Platform Integrity

  • Spam and fake engagement
  • Unauthorized promotions
  • Off-topic content
  • Impersonation
  • Misleading information

Appeal Process

If you believe your content was removed or your account was suspended in error, you can submit an appeal to [email protected]. Appeals should include:

  • Your username or school email address
  • The content in question
  • Why you believe the action was incorrect
  • Any relevant context

We aim to review appeals within 48 hours and will communicate our decision via email.

We regularly review and update our content policy to better serve our community. Major changes will be announced through the app to all users.
